Jay Glazer Addresses On Cam Newton Health Situation

Veteran quarterback Cam Newton joins the New England Patriots in full health. However, the 2015 NFL MVP is still wrapped in mystery and uncertainty. Will head coach Bill Belichick put him under center in September?

A lot of analysts have speculated about Newton’s health. He has all the talent he needs to move on like a star, but his health condition is still an issue for some guys. The 2015 NFL MVP was limited to two games in 2019 due to his foot injury. In 2018, Newton struggled with a shoulder injury and he even had to undergo a surgery. These two injuries affected the veteran’s free agency and his chances to sign a contract with a team. Newton was on the open market for three months.

Cam Newton enters 2020 in perfect health

We won’t hear much of Newton’s health until he hits the field in September. NFL Insider Jay Glazer is under impression that the 2015 NFL MVP is strong and healthy. In other words, Glazer is ready to go.

“I think Cam Newton is healthy now, it’s just that teams weren’t able to get an up-close look at him, which many wanted because of the severity of the foot and the shoulder injuries and how long the shoulder injury lasted,” Glazer wrote in his latest mailbag for The Athletic. “They wanted to poke and prod. But I do think he’s healthy now.”

Newton has shared a lot of workout videos in the past few weeks. His teammates have shared videos featuring him, and from what we can see, he looks amazing. Newton hit the field with his wide receivers. The three-time Pro Bowl selection was in the gym, and he was also on the field.

Head coach Bill Belichick is ready for the upcoming challenge and he trusts Newton. We don’t know whether he trusts the veteran enough to give him the starting job in 2020. Jarrett Stidham is also great. He is young, healthy, and talented. It will be a tough battle for both players. Things will be pretty clear in training camp. Belichick has the final word about the quarterback position.
