Patriots’ James White Emotionally Opens Up About Father’s Death, Mother’s Condition

James White has finally opened up emotionally about his father’s death and his mothers current condition. The New England Patriots have been looking pretty good so far this season. They are looking better than what most people expected. Cam Newton was to thank for the success so far.

Bill Belichick has talked about how good Newton has looked so far. Just take a look at what he said earlier on this year.

“I think when you’re talking about mobile quarterbacks — guys that are tough to handle, can throw, run, make good decisions … — I would put him at the top of the list.  “Not saying there aren’t a lot of other good players that do that, but I would say of all the guys we played recently in the last couple of years, I think he’s the hardest guy to (defend).

“He makes good decisions, can run. He’s strong. He’s hard to tackle. He can do a lot of different things. He can beat you in a lot of different ways. We saw that in the game in 2013. I would put him at the top of the list. I’m not saying the other guys aren’t a problem, because they are. But he’s maybe public enemy No. 1.”

Sadly, the play on the field was not the only thing that we have had to see this season. James White had some heart breaking news a few weeks ago. He found out his parents were in a car accident ahead of the Seattle game. His father died and his mother was left in series condition.

He finally talked about it recently.

“Just simple texts he would send to get me prepared for the games and stuff. I looked back at the last text I got the Saturday before the Seahawks game just to kind of reminisce on that.”

“He meant everything for me. He pushed me. He wouldn’t always tell me what I wanted to hear, but he always wanted me to do the right things and push myself to be the best I could be. … He made me who I am today.”

“Honestly, all that stuff still seems kind of surreal to me,” White said. “My mom’s continuing to improve and progress and get better, so that eases my mind a little bit, and being out on the football field eases my mind a little bit, too. So I’m just trying to push through, because that’s what my dad would want me to do. So I’m just trying to take it one day at a time and find a way to look at all the positives in my life.”
