Carmelo Anthony Sounds Off on Lakers’ Postseason Prospects

The Los Angeles Lakers won one battle, but they have yet to win the war. Lakers players have too many losses in their chart, and fans are a bit worried about the postseason. Veteran Carmelo Anthony talked about the postseason prospects. LA has a 25-27 record at this point of the regular season. Will they improve their record? LeBron James is still out. He won’t return until his swelling disappears. Anthony Davis was out for quite some time. Yes, LA is in the No.9 spot in the Western Conference.

According to Melo, Lakers players should try harder to avoid the play-in tournament.

“Wherever we’re at at that time, at the end of the year, that’s where we’re going to be at. I would prefer us to be healthy going into those situations,” Melo said following Wednesday’s win. “Do I want to be in the play-in game — hell no. But I’ve been in the play-in game before and I know the excitement but I also know the feeling when it comes to that. So I would rather be a little bit more comfortable than playing in the play-in game. I’m sure my teammates will agree with that.”

Carmelo Anthony is honest about the postseason prospects

Melo is not the only one who hates the play-in tournament. LeBron is not a fan either. He has already made his comments about the game. LA played the game last season and beat the Golden State Warriors.

“It don’t matter where we land. That’s my mindset. If it happens to be sixth, or fifth, or whatever the case may be,” LeBron said last year. “Or if we end up in that playoff, whatever that thing is. Whoever came up with that s**t needs to be fired.”

Staying healthy is a priority right now. The team was plagued with injuries and COVID. Let’s see how will things turn for the team. It’s a long season after all. Frank Vogel is confident about his team and the same goes to each and every player on his star-packed roster.
