Patriots Edge Makes Bold Statement About Bill Belichick, Jerod Mayo

Jerod Mayo stepped in as a replacement for head coach Bill Belichick. He had some big shoes to fill in and let’s just say replacing legendary Belichick won’t be easy. However, Mayo respect Belichick’s legacy and everything he has accomplished with the Patriots. The new Patriots head coach will take a different approach and players have already noticed a difference between him and his predecessor.

Patriots defensive end Keion White was among the first to discuss this difference. He talked to the media following the organized team activities.

“We don’t got Bill cursing us out every play anymore, but it’s still pretty similar.”

Belichick did things differently, he had his own method. Although it was a big rough for some players, White sure misses his head coach. Not everyone can adjust to the Patriots Way.

“I miss it. I like Bill. He’s my type of coach, like a hard-ass. I like that. I respond well to things like that.”

Belichick had a different approach, players are open for the change Mayo brings

Mayo accepted the challenge in order to bring the Patriots back in game. White respects the fact that Mayo is doing things differently. He is an excellent coach and Patriots players are excited to work with him. It’s a brand new beginning for everyone and expectations are really high.

“Mayo’s done a pretty good job, too. It’s all different. Mayo’s doing a really good job of staying true to himself, not trying to fill somebody else’s shoes, but create his own path, and I really respect that.”

The Patriots decided to part ways with Belichick after two decades. Things didn’t go well following Tom Brady’s departure and many place the blame on Belichick. Robert Kraft was frustrated by the fact that his team hasn’t made the playoffs in a long time. There was no improvement and the Patriots created an environment for a change. Let’s see if Mayo finds a way to take the Patriots to the playoffs.
