Patriots Trade Proposal Sends Multiple Draft Picks For $19M WR

The New England Patriots will consider making more changes in the upcoming period. They have to find a star wide receiver to boost their receiving game. WR Justin Jefferson makes perfect sense for the Patriots and he may end up on the trade block in the near future.

The Minnesota Vikings won’t give up on Jefferson that easily. They’d expect a good number of picks from any trade partner.

Charley Walters from St. Paul Pioneer Press reported that the Vikings had actually planned to trade the 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year before the draft. It was an expected move for the team because they didn’t want to give him a big deal.

Jefferson topped 1,000 yards in pretty much every season he’s played so far.

Patriots can afford a trade for the star WR

Alex Ballentine from Bleacher Report has a trade proposal for the Patriots. If they want Jefferson, they should consider giving up on a “2025 first-round pick, 2025 third-round pick, 2026 second-round pick, 2026 fourth-round pick”.

“A bounty of four draft picks for one player including two first-round picks might just be enough to consider swapping an All-Pro talent who is going to command as much money as Jefferson,” Ballentine detailed.

He explained that the Patriots’ “roster is at a point where no one is close to the top of the market at their position right now. They would love to have the problem of signing a receiver to a contract that pays them over $30 million a year.”

The Patriots can afford a big deal this summer. They have $44,415,791 space cap to work with. Will the team decide to sign a star receiver and improve their chances to make the playoffs? Drake Maye may take the starting job in 2024 and he will definitely need a star wide receiver to guide his way.

It’s a good plan to work with and the Patriots should definitely take it into consideration.
