Lakers’ Austin Reaves Hilariously Shuts Down Pistons Fan’s Request

The Los Angeles Lakers have a couple of trade targets on their table right now. The front office didn’t make any moves in February, meaning they have to get a third star this summer. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka will have to come up with a good offer in order to make any trade happen. D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and many others may end up on the trade block in the blink of an eye. Well, if the Lakers are willing to trade Reaves he better join the Detroit Pistons.

That’s what a Pistons fan suggested.

The Lakers entered the offseason a little earlier than expected. Players have plenty of time to rest and relax and some of them are picking on great hobbies. Reaves enjoyed playing golf on Wednesday and a Pistons fan decided to get the best of this opportunity.

The fan told Reaves that he should join the Pistons and it was a big “no” for the Lakers player.

It was a great exchange and people were laughing.

Reaves would never join the Pistons

Although Reaves cannot really control his situation in LA, he would never go to Detroit. The talented player signed a four-year deal with the Lakers in 2023 and showed great performance this past season. Reaves’ deal includes a player option and he can switch teams in 2026.

The Lakers wouldn’t let Reaves go to Detroit that easily. Moreover, he wouldn’t join a team that had just ended a frustrating season. Detroit finished the 2023-24 NBA season with 14 wins. It was their worst season in team history and the front office is already making some big changes.

It’s interesting to note that the Pistons fired head coach Monty Williams and a lot of analysts and players believe that he could be the next Lakers head coach. It’s a different topic, but it sure grabbed everyone’s attention. One thing stands for sure. Reaves would never go to Detroit.
