Lakers Trade Proposal Will Reunite Team With $102 Million Scorer

The Los Angeles Lakers finished the 2023-24 NBA season with an unexpected outcome. The team looked good throughout the entire season, but their postseason was a disaster. Lakers players lost the playoff round to the Denver Nuggets in Game 5 of the series and the front office decided to make a change. Firing Darvin Ham was the first to go. The Lakers are also looking for ways to improve their roster. According to a realistic trade proposal, the Lakers may soon reunite with a talented scorer.

It’s more than obvious that the Lakers need a third player behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They showed interest in multiple players and we’d now add Kyle Kuzma to the mix. He is not the biggest fish in the see, but he has been a Laker before and getting him makes sense on so many levels.

Lakers could put the trade proposal on their table

An NBA executive discussed this potential reunion. The former Laker wanted to make an impact and signed with a team that gave him this opportunity. Unfortunately, his current team didn’t transform into a contender.

“Trading Kuzma, they had to do that because he wanted to be The Man, and the thing is, he got to be The Man on a team that is a long way from being good,” the exec said. “But you have to hope that Kyle Kuzma has matured, that he is tired of his team getting kicked around all the time and he wants to win. They almost sent him to Dallas. So, we’ll see.

“He can go back to the Lakers and help them win. They need a 4 (power forward) who can score a bit. He’d fit if that is what he wants.”

Kuzma was a great player in 2017. He had his own platform and enjoyed the attention he was receiving. Well, Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson decided to sign LeBron and then paired him with AD. This pushed Kuzma away and he didn’t look really happy. He signed a four-year deal worth $102 million, but the Washington Wizards don’t seem to be his best option. Is he looking for another home in the NBA?

The Lakers know Kuzma well and he had an opportunity to play with LeBron and AD. Getting him again would give the team an excellent scorer. He is not the best scorer out there, but he can make a difference in Los Angeles.
