Patriots Champion ‘Would Love’ To Return, Finish NFL Career In New England

The New England Patriots may soon add another champion to the roster as the player still homes of coming back. Duron Harmon has close ties with the Patriots, but hasn’t seen any action with the team in the last five years. Let’s just say he would be the right player to join the team. Harmon has helped the Patriots win three rings after all.

Harmon made a few stops in the NFL after leaving the Patriots. He played with the Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, and Cleveland Browns. His window is closing and joining the Patriots at this point makes perfect sense.

“I think last year just kind of let me know what my status in the NFL is,” Harmon said in an appearance on the “Eye on Foxborough” podcast. “‘If somebody gets hurt, we’ll give you a call or … maybe another opportunity comes up early. I’m not sure, but right now I am still training to play.”

The Patriots champion could make an impact in New England again

The Patriots will be an ideal destination for Harmon. According to him, this would be the perfect ending to his NFL story. Harmon made great memories with the Patriots and he will gladly return to the team whenever his name is called.

“Oh, without a doubt, that would be the perfect end to this story,” Harmon said. “I would love to be a part of something from the beginning … because they’re trying to build something. I know they have the right people to do it, so if the opportunity came, I mean, that would be special. That would be a really special way to end my career.”

New England has Kyle Dugger and Jabrill Peppers, but they can still add depth behind both players. That’s what makes Harmon an ideal option at this point. Harmon knows the team and he has already worked with Brian Belichick and Mike Pellegrino. Jerod Mayo had a chance to coach him as well.
