Patriots Have Signed All Rookies After Reported Ja’Lynn Polk Contract

The New England Patriots selected a good group of rookies in the 2024 NFL Draft. Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo had huge holes to fill and it looks like the Patriots roster is almost complete. The team made great changes after the end of the season. Bill Belichick’s departure from New England marked the beginning of a new era. Mayo will be coaching a completely different team and his new scheme relies on Patriots rookies.

Field Yates from ESPN reported that the Patriots have signed all eight rookies. Ja’Lynn Polk was the final unsigned player of this year’s class and he got his contract as well.

Polk signed a four-year deal worth $9.7 million and will get a $3.9 million signing bonus, per NFL reporter Aaron Wilson. NFL experts would agree that Polk has the right skills and talent to join Mayo’s team. The Patriots got him with the 34th overall pick in the draft. Polk was turning heads during minicamp despite the fact that he didn’t have great success in organized team activities.

Patriots rely on newly-signed rookies

Mayo has great expectations from his current roster. He issued a warning to Patriots veterans and didn’t even provide any guarantee for their roster spot. Mayo trusts “young bulls” and relies on their impact.

The Patriots head coach has big shoes to fill in. Replacing Belichick won’t be easy, but Mayo is confident about his new team. The Patriots didn’t make any impact in the last few seasons and now is the perfect time to make a difference.

Former Patriots players joined Mayo’s coaching staff and the organization. He kept some of the veterans around and will probably make some roster calculations. The quarterback position has attracted a lot of attention and it’s too soon to make any comments. Drake Maye is challenging Jacoby Brissett and Mayo will pick the best quarterback for his 2024 plan.
