Rich Paul’s Elaborate Scheme Sends Bronny James To Lakers As Historic Pick

The Los Angeles Lakers used the No.55 overall pick to select Bronny James. It was the biggest move in the 2024 NBA Draft and let’s just say Bronny made the best headlines these days. According to Bob Myers from ESPN, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul created this scenario and came up with the perfect plan for Bronny.

“Right now, Rich Paul is calling teams, (telling them) do not take (USC guard) Bronny James,” Myers earlier said on the ESPN broadcast of the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft on Thursday, June 27, in New York. “He’s telling them, ‘Do not take him. If you take him, he’s going to Australia.’ He has a plan, and he has a place.”

Bronny will join the Lakers roster and play with his popular dad. Of course, LeBron James has to sign a contract extension with the Lakers first. Dave McMeniamin from ESPN reported that Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss will give LeBron a three-year deal worth $162 million. That’s the maximum deal he will get at this point.

“L.A. is committed to re-signing James and would offer the maximum three-year deal for which James is eligible to take him through his 24th season in the league, sources told ESPN,” McMenamin wrote on June 24.

Bronny will try to get the best of the opportunity LA Lakers offered

Bronny took the big stage and everyone had something to say about it. He is the son of the greatest basketball player of all time and someone who has actually won four titles and four NBA MVP awards. Bronny grew up in the spotlight, but he is now trying to make a name for himself. He won’t let anyone disrespect his determination to build his own career in the big league.

“My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself, and get to the NBA, which is everyone’s end goal that’s here,” Bronny told the media at the Draft Combine in Chicago. “I never thought about just playing with my dad, but of course, he’s brought it up a couple of times. But yeah, I don’t think about it much.”

“When I get there, I don’t think it would be just like me and my dad. I would be happy about getting into the league instead of me thinking about playing with my dad. That’s not my mindset right now at all. I’m just trying to put in the work and see where it takes me from there.

“I just want to … have people know my name is Bronny James and not be identified as just LeBron James’ son,” Bronny James said during last month’s NBA Draft Combine. “I would be happy about getting to the league instead of me thinking about playing with my dad. But that’s not my mindset at all. I’m just trying to put in the work and see where it takes me.”
