Isiah Thomas Drops ‘Comical’ Claim About NBA Star LeBron James

LeBron James and other NBA stars have embraced a different approach to the game in the last couple of decades. We’ve witnessed all the changes they made on the basketball court over the years. Isaiah Thomas shared his take on modern basketball and the role LeBron would’ve had back in the days. Would he be equally successful in the 1980s?

A social media account brought back an old topic from 2019. Former NBA guard Lou Williams made some shocking comments during his appearance on a podcast with Gilbert Arena. Some people wouldn’t agree with him on this one and most of them are Michael Jordan fans.

According to the three-time Sixth Man of the year, LeBron would “win 15 championships in a row” if he joined the NBA in 1975.

Thomas made a surprising LeBron claim

Thomas came across the comment and dropped his take. Let’s just say this comment triggered an avalanche of reactions. Thomas had started off his incredible career in 1981 and he knows a lot about the game.

“I find it comical and laughable how some, not all people think this is the first generation of basketball players that athletically could run and jump,” Thomas wrote. “I’m not sure he would be the best athlete in 1975 all things being equal.”

During the 2019 podcast, Arenas claims that he’s “starting to hate everyone in the 90s” who dismiss modern NBA players. We’ve all heard NBA legends claim that younger generations wouldn’t have the same success back in the days. Arenas also claimed that Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman would be “little guards” these days.

LeBron has been around for two decades. He has won four titles and four NBA Finals MVP awards. He spent time in Cleveland, Miami, and LA, and has yet to call it career. The Lakers superstar has accomplished a lot, but Thomas wouldn’t bet on LeBron in a game against the Detroit Pistons.

Thomas likes LeBron and even claimed that he is the GOAT. He just doesn’t see him as a dominant force over the “Bad Boys.”
