Proposed 5-Team Trade Sees Lakers Sign $45 Million Guard For Reddish, Russell

The Los Angeles Lakers may take part in a five-team trade so they can get a talented guard. Bruce Brown has been a top target for the Lakers for quite some time and Rob Pelinka may soon make a move to get him. What makes Brown a good option for the Lakers? He is efficient as guard and small forward.

Brown is entering the final year of his two-year deal worth $45 million. He and the Denver Nuggets won a title in 2023, but the team sent him to the Toronto Raptors earlier this year.

A five-team trade makes sense for the Lakers, gives them a talented guard

Brett Siegel from Clutch Points has a trade proposal that includes the Lakers, Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic, and Brooklyn Nets. It is not a common occurrence, but it makes sense for all sides involved. If the Lakers want to get Brown, they’d have to give up on D’Angelo Russell, Christian Wood, Cam Redish, and some draft picks.

The Raptors would get F PJ Tucker, G Bones Hyland, F Caleb Houstan, Lakers 2029 1st Round Pick (Unprotected). The Clippers will get F Dorian Finney-Smith, F/C Christian Wood. Orlando is getting Russell. Brooklyn is getting G Cole Anthony, F Cam Reddish, Orlando’s 2025 second-round pick, Lakers’ 2027 second-round pick, Clippers’ 2030 second-round pick.

“As crazy as this trade looks, it actually gives all five teams exactly what they need this offseason,” Siegel explained.

LA wanted Brown last season and they will grab every opportunity that comes along the way to sign him. Getting into a five-team trade? Makes sense for Pelinka and Co.

“Los Angeles maintains interest in him this offseason,” Siegel wrote. “Which is why he could be the one player that makes the most sense for them as it pertains to making a championship run right now in LeBron James’ final seasons.”
