Patriots Newcomer Has ‘Well Exceeded’ Expectations Amid Brandon Aiyuk Speculation

The New England Patriots have been linked to San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, but they it seems like they have found what they are looking for in a newcomer. Veteran wide receiver K.J. Osborn showed great performance in training camp. NFL analysts agree that he has actually met all expectations.

The Patriots got Osborn in free agency, offering him a one-year deal. He has already fit in the roster. Taylor Kyles from Patriots on CLNS reported that Osborn has established strong connection with veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett. This chemistry would be of great performance early in the regular season. Kyles also added that Osborn has exceeded his expectations in pads. In other words, the Patriots have found a true gem.

Patriots express confidence in their newcomer

The Patriots are looking for a star receiver who will move on to No.1 right away. This may force them to contact the 49ers to get Aiyuk who is already out of the team.

Just like Bill Belichick, Patriots coach Jerod Mayo and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt are looking for versatile players who try to get the best of their time on the football field. Is Osborn the right player to step in as the No.1 receiver for the Patriots? If he intends to get this role with the team, he will have to excel in the game. He has the ability to stretch the field and this is a great advantage. Kyles added that Osborn “had the catch of the play for a second straight practice after igniting an end of half situation with a deep grab down the sideline. He’s also gotten open downfield on other plays where QBs didn’t hit him” on Saturday.

Osborn can fit in pretty much every game plan, which makes him a good option for the Patriots.
