Patriots Trade Scenario Swaps Kendrick Bourne For All-Pro WR

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Ayiuk found himself into a controversial situation with the team and he is already on his way out. The talented player requested a trade last month, but the Niners didn’t show any interest in trading him. It looks like times have changed and San Francisco is now trying to show the WR. Let’s go all the way to New England. The latest course of events may affect Kendrick Bourne and his deal with the Patriots.

“At this point, Aiyuk and the 49ers have some options. And it appears more likely than ever that the 49ers are willing to make a trade. It might be up to Aiyuk to determine the next move,” Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports (Bay Area) wrote on August 4.

Maiocco is convinced that the Patriots could be an ideal destination for Bourne. He also listed the Cleveland Browns as a potential trade partner for the 49ers.

“The Patriots could offer former 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne as part of a trade that includes an enticing package of 2025 draft picks,” Maiocco added.

Aiyuk caught 75 passes for 1,342 yards in the 2023 NFL season, reaching a career high. He averaged 17.9 yards per catch and had seven touchdown catches. He was a second-team All-Pro selection this past season.

The talented wide receiver eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark again. New England are looking for solid targets for their rookie quarterback and should consider getting Aiyuk.

Patriots could replace Bourne and trade him for Aiyuk

Bourne joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He saw action in 58 games with his team. The talented player missed half of the 2023 season due to an ACL tear and will probably join his teammates in Week 4 or 5 in 2024.

The Patriots are rebuilding the roster and are still trying their options. Bourne would gladly join a top contender like San Francisco.

Will Aiyuk join the Patriots? Will he stay with the 49ers?

Aiyuk has expressed an interest in remaining with the 49ers, so that remains a possibility, too. All he has to do is accept the San Francisco’s latest offer — believed to be at least a couple million shy of the $30-million-a-year threshold.”
