Patriots Wide Receiver Showing Up In ‘Major Way’ At Training Camp

The New England Patriots planned to add depth to their receiving unit in order to improve the overall performance in the upcoming season. According to recent reports, Patriots wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk has shown great dominance at training camp.

Tyler Sullivan from CBS Sports had great words for Polk and the performance he showed early in training camp. Sullivan noted how “whether it’s been on shorter routes within the confines of the red zone or deep 50-50 balls during competitive drills outside of that area, Polk has shown up in a major way. If he can carry that into the regular season, it’s a massive development for an offense that desperately needs a go-to option.”

Patriots receiver shows true dominance in training camp

Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo has yet to determine the No.1 receiver. According to Sullivan, Polk is the most efficient Patriots receiver at the moment. Polk works really hard to shows his skill set and he sure surprised coaches with his plays in the red zone. Alex Van Pelt made some calculations regarding the offense and Polk is a natural fit for his scheme.

The Patriots have been looking for a strong receiver ever since Julian Edelman retired. Their passing game needs adjustment and Polk could be the missing piece of the puzzle.

Mike Kadlick from Patriots on CLNS also believes that “Polk has been, without question, the Patriots best receiver in six training camp practices.” In other words, his performance didn’t go unnoticed. Patriots are looking for a big target with subtle body movement and strong hands, just like Polk.

Patriots receivers are definitely turning heads this summer. Javon Baker was compared to Randy Moss and it seems like Mayo will enter the new season with a great group of players.

Baker, Polk, Kendrick Bourne, and DeMario Douglas are expected to make a chance on the football field in 2024.
